Atlas

Year: 2020
Medium: Mixed Media Installation (Graphite, Cables, Cable Clips, Hardware, Studs, Drywall)
Dimensions Variable

Covering the entire gallery wall(s), Atlas features hundreds of names—actors, musicians, artists, writers—scrawled in graphite and linked together with tangled white wires, secured by staples, hooks and cable clips. The result is a dense, web-like network of influence and association between these public figures.

Parts of the wall appear cracked and broken, with fragments missing and cords pulled loose. The once-deliberate structure now feels strained, overloaded, and on the verge of collapse. Atlas evokes both a personal map of cultural inheritance and a broader reflection on the overwhelming nature of media, memory, parasocial interactions and the increasing difficulty of forming individual identity in the age of influence.
